.For the second in a week, Lee University senior Kate Dirkse was named an All-American. She was named to the Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-American Team as announced on Thursday.
Early this week, Dirkse was named a D2 CCA First Team All-American. This season she was the Gulf South Conference defender of the year and on the First Team All-GSC. She was a First Team All Region in the D2 CCA and the USCA this year. Kate was a preseason All-GSC member, and was a USCA Second Team All-American last year.
Along with a D2CCA Third Team All-American, First Team All-South Region, First Team All-GSC, and GSC All-Tournament team last year.
Of the 37 players receiving women’s All-American recognition, eight student-athletes are earning the second All-America honors of their careers: Maryville University senior forward Lexi Gentry; West Chester sophomore forward Faith Matter; Lee graduate defender Kate Dirkse; Saint Rose senior defender Sanna Rein; Dallas Baptist senior midfielder Michelle Gonzalez; West Chester junior midfielder Kaitlynn Haughey; Colorado Mines junior forward Reese McDermott; and Grand Valley State senior forward Taylor Reid.
