Mocs Back At McKenzie For Contest With Citadel

  • Tuesday, February 7, 2023
The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team returns home for the first time in two weeks when it hosts The Citadel for a crucial Southern Conference regular season matchup on Wednesday night inside McKenzie Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Chattanooga (12-13, 4-8 SoCon) is coming off a three-game road stretch that was capped off by an 83-68 loss at Western Carolina on Saturday afternoon. The Mocs have dropped six of its last seven games and have gone 1-4 since losing big man Jake Stephens to injury on January 21.

Graduate transfer point guard Dalvin White has stepped up in Stephens' absence and has averaged 13.4 points per game over the last five games while reaching double figures in all of them.
White is averaging 10.0 points and 3.0 assists this season while shooting 42.1% from the floor and 45.9% from deep.

Chattanooga aims to rise in the SoCon standings as the squad is in search of reaching the coveted sixth-place or better finish that secures an automatic spot into the tournament quarterfinal round. The Mocs are currently tied for eighth place but sit just two games back of fourth place.

The Citadel (9-16, 4-8 SoCon) looks to snap a four-game skid ahead of Wednesday night's matchup. The Bulldogs dropped three SoCon contests during the stretch with a non-conference loss to Chicago State mixed in. Stephen Clark paces the team with a 17.0 points per game average this season.

Fans can watch the game LIVE on ESPN+ through the Watch ESPN and ESPN App platforms or fans can also listen LIVE on WFLI 96.1 FM/100.3 FM/ 1070AM in Chattanooga as well as the Varsity Network app.
