The Lee University Chorale will present its spring concert on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.

The concert will begin with a work for choir and chamber orchestra by Antonio Vivaldi. A portion of the evening will feature pieces about nature, including works such as “Across the Vast, Eternal Sky” by Ola Gjeilo, “Sounding Sea” by Eric William Barnum, and “Come to the Woods” by Jake Runestad. The concert will end with the premier of a new piece by American composer, David Hill, “May the Grace of Christ.”

“I believe this concert demonstrates the musical diversity of the Chorale, with music ranging from earlier classical pieces to more contemporary pieces,” said Dr. William Green, dean of the School of Music and director of Chorale.

Dr. Green will conduct the concert along with graduate student Lorali Carbajal-Reyna. Dr. ChoEun Lee and Evangeline Wykoff will be the accompanists for the performance.

The Lee University Chorale is an ensemble of highly motivated vocalists selected by audition. An emphasis is placed on the diversity and breadth of advanced, artistic choral literature. Chorale has been featured in performances with the Chattanooga Symphony, at Carnegie Hall, and most recently in Italy and Austria as an invited guest for the 2022 Advent Festival in Vienna.

The performance is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. The concert will also be available for livestream viewing at https://leeu.live/.
