Cleveland Municipal Airport Authority has named its terminal building in honor of Mark Fidler, who has retired as manager and chief of operations.

The honor came on Friday as a surprise to Mr. Fidler, who is the jetport’s first manager, joining during its construction 10 years ago. He helped supervise construction and subsequent runway improvements through the years.

Mr. Fidler led the airport to become Tennessee’s Airport of the Year and he was honored as Tennessee Airport of the Year.
Earlier this year he was given the distinguished lifetime achievement award for his leadership and contributions to aviation.

In making the motion to honor Mr. Fidler, Airport Authority Vice Chairman Tom Rowland said Mr. Fidler set the pace for Cleveland’s Regional Jetport to be one of the best in the country. He also commended Mr. Fidler’s wife Jennifer for the teamwork the two have given the past decade in Cleveland.

An open house on Friday honored Mr. Fidler and recognized the new airport manager, Zach Colescott of Winchester, Tn.. Steve Wright is chairman of Cleveland Airport Authority, with Ben Chandler, Robby Garrison, Verrill Norwood and Tom Rowland.
