Georgia Department Of Labor Temporarily Suspends Employer-Filed (Partial) Claims System

  • Wednesday, June 7, 2023

Georgia Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson announced on Wednesday the suspension of the Employer-Filed (Partial) Claims System. According to recent labor market statistics, there has been a steady increase in fraud nationally. In an effort to prevent fraud, the department is temporarily suspending the employer-filed claim application while additional safeguards and security measures are added.

“A major focus of my administration is to improve the customer experience with the Georgia Department of Labor by reducing the backlog of claims and improving the delivery of legitimate payments,” said Commissioner Thompson. “Mitigating fraudulent claims is a huge factor in delivering on these goals, and today’s announcement will allow this agency to continue our focus on the people of Georgia who are in need.”

Employers may advise individuals who are temporarily or partially unemployed to file an unemployment claim online at dol.georgia.gov or in person at their local career center.
