ArtsBuild announces the recipients of its annual round of Mission Support grants. ArtsBuild has awarded a total of $550,000 in Mission Support grants to 20 local arts organizations for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
Recipients include Art 120, Association for Visual Arts, Bessie Smith Cultural Center, Chattanooga Ballet, Chattanooga Boys Choir, Chattanooga Girls Choir, Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, Chattanooga Theatre Centre, CoPAC/Barking Legs Theater, Creative Discovery Museum, East Lake Expression Engine, Houston Museum of Decorative Arts, Hunter Museum of American Art, Scenic City Clay Arts, SoLit, Songbirds Foundation, SoundCorps, SPLASH, Stove Works, and The Pop-up Project.
ArtsBuild Board Chair Rowena Belcher said, “ArtsBuild is very proud to award these general operating support grants to such an impressive list that continues to include more arts organizations each year. These arts organizations – large and small – enrich the cultural landscape of Chattanooga and Hamilton County in remarkable ways. They are our Community Arts Partners and collaborators in our mission to build a stronger community through the arts.”
Mission Support grants are designated for local arts organizations that create and provide year-round arts programs and experiences. A grants review panel made up of community volunteers evaluates each organization’s application, heavily weighted on the organization’s efforts to create access to the arts across our community through outreach, inclusion, and variety of programs.
