-The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team hits the beach for this weekend’s Evie Odom Invitational. The 3-day, 54-hole event tackles the challenge of Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va.
This is the Mocs fifth trip to the event with two third-place finishes, including last year. Junior Makenzie Cooper led that effort capturing the first of two wins on the season. But every visit has seen a Moc end up in the top 3.
She’s back in the lineup for this trip along with Violeta Fernandez-Tagle, Kera Healey, Giulia Foresta and Alexis Daniel.
They face a solid 14-team field that includes the likes of Miami (Fla.), Notre Dame, Penn State and Southern Conference rival Furman.
Daniel leads the Mocs off on day one. She takes the tee at 9:20 a.m., paired with North Florida and Sacramento State. Cooper (9:30), Foresta (9:40), Healey (9:50) and Fernandez-Tagle (10:00) follow in 10-minute increments.
