The County will present Plan Hamilton to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission at the Hamilton County Courthouse at 1 p.m. on Dec. 9.
The RPA reports that "This is an exciting time for the unincorporated areas of Hamilton County; we hope to start the new year with a Comprehensive Plan in place that guides development as a strategy for managing future growth while also preserving community character. During a series of fall public meetings held Sept. 19 to Oct. 16, we heard from hundreds of local residents and business owners who joined us to give input and direction on the first plan draft. As requested, we're allowing extra time to work on plan documents and incorporate input. Following review by the Planning Commission in December, the plan then goes before the County Commission as part of the adoption process."
Completed drafts of the Area Plans will be shared as soon as available.
"Our goal is to post them the last week of November, so please stay involved and make sure to watch the https://planhamilton.org/ website, follow us on Facebook or send an email to rpa@planning.gov. RPA staff are available if you have questions or are interested in having them at a meeting with your neighborhood/organization," officials said.
