Richard “Trey” Thomas Laney III
Richard “Trey” Thomas Laney III, 32, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Trey was born on January 2, 1992 in Chattanooga. He attended Hixson High School. He lived most of his life in the Chattanooga and Red Bank area.
Trey enjoyed reading. His favorite author was Louis L’amour. He was an avid skateboarder and enjoyed playing pool. He enjoyed making unique art pieces from welding.
Trey lived his life on his own terms. He loved hard and was fiercely loyal to those he cared about. Trey loved all of his family and friends but had a very special bond with his cousins, Samuel Holly and Isaac Cookston.
Trey was preceded in death by his grandfather papa (and best friend) Bobby Wiggins and his uncle, Bobby L. Wiggins Jr.
Survivors include his father, Richard “Tom” Laney, Jr.; mother Tammy Wiggins Laney (partner Julie Marshall); siblings, Paige and Reed Laney; grandmother, Glenda Chapman of Tampa, FL and grandparents Richard and Dot Laney of Chattanooga and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Hamilton Funeral Home on Saturday, March 30, from 3-5 p.m.
