Billy "Bo" Richie, who was a father, a grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 65, under the care of hospice of Chattanooga.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the Alton Park Church of Christ in Chattanooga where he was a member.

He was born in Chattanooga, to the late Mr. Freeman Richie, Sr. and Mrs. Corine (Richie) Johnson.
Mr. Billy always liked to tell jokes, laugh, and enjoy watching old western movies. He loved riding his motor scooter all over town and enjoying nice weather. He also loved to spend time outside with his family, friends, and neighbors.

His special heart was his daughters, Mimi (The Boss) and Angel (My Babygirl), along with his grandkids who called him Big Bo/Paw Paw, which he loved.

Over the years, he worked for Wheland foundry. In his early years he moved to Stone Mountain, Ga., to be close to his father; and later moved back to Chattanooga where he worked and retired from Pilgrim's Pride in 2023. There he was known to all as their “Mr. Billy”.

Billy's survivors include his loving daughters, Menecca (James) Parham, Angel Shanta Monger; his grandkids, Keiria McGhee, Kateria McGhee, Kavan Monger, Hannah Parham, and James Parham III; his beloved mother, Corine W. Johnson; brothers, Willie Joe, Michael, Johnny (Samahria), and Hosea Richie (caregiver); an uncle, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at the funeral home. A noon funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 18, in the chapel of John P Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.

Interment will follow at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.
