The Chattanooga Mocs softball team is headed back to Nashville Tuesday for a non-conference game against Tennessee State. The game is set to start at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time. There will be live stats but the game will not be streamed.

Chattanooga dropped its last two games to Mercer to fall into a tie with the Bears for first in the SoCon.
The Mocs lead the SoCon with a .309 batting average and rank fourth in the NCAA for double plays per game with .60 average. UTC has a league-best .310 ERA, 276 strikeouts and eight shutouts. Seven Chattanooga batters are hitting above .300. Camryn Cernuto leads the Mocs with a .374 batting average, third best in the SoCon, and leads the league with 17 sacrifice bunts. She is second in the NCAA for sac bunts per game with a .40 average. Olivia Lipari is second on the team in hitting with a .347 batting average and a team-best 37 RBI. Kaili Phillips with a .336 BA, leads the Mocs with 10 home runs.
Tennessee State is third in the OVC standings, two games behind Eastern Illinois (16-5) and just swept SIUE and Western Illinois for six straight conference wins. The team is hitting .279 and is led by Nahtali Simpson with a .368 batting average. She has eight doubles, a triple and five home runs in 42 hits with 24 RBI. Onnika Spencer is second on the team with a .347 BA and a team-best six home runs and 28 RBI. She’s registered 12 doubles. In the circle the pitchers have a combined 4.05 ERA led by Reina Castillo at 3.2 and a 7-5 record. Caitlyn Manus is 10-9 on theyear with a team-best 85 strikeouts in 108.2 innings of work.
