Dads And Women's Sports

  • Monday, June 17, 2024

Dads are a big part of girls' and women's sports. They coach their daughters' teams, drive to countless practices, cheer them on at every game, and give encouragement on the car rides home after tough losses.

Our family attended the CFC women's soccer game on Father's Day. There was a missed opportunity at this game to honor the dads in the stands and the dads who had poured into their daughters throughout their soccer careers.

Instead, halftime was spent highlighting several women in support of Pride month.

Given Father's Day is given only a day, and a month is attributed to the other, perhaps this day in the future could be truly used at all sporting events to honor awesome dads who are a big part of making sports what they are.
