Evan Honer Comes To Barrelhouse Ballroom July 19

  • Thursday, June 20, 2024

Evan Honer, a Nashville-based artist whose new album Fighting For was released earlier this month through Cloverdale Records, will play at The Barrelhouse Ballroom July 19.

Review for Evan Honer:

The new album is the anticipated follow-up to his 2023 debut album West on I-10, which became an unexpected breakthrough success, reaching millions worldwide, and essentially turning Evan into an overnight sensation through sheer organic connection with listeners.

In just over a year, Evan garnered over 200 million streams worldwide with over 2.6 million monthly listeners, and over a half million followers across his socials, including over 4.1 million likes on TikTok, leading to sold-out headlining tours playing to packed crowds in 1,000 venues across the US and Europe. Following the overwhelming success of his debut, Honer began receiving competing seven-figure offers from virtually every major record label as well as A-list, Grammy-winning producers vying to work with him on his next record. He opted to turn them all down, stay independent, and start his own label (Cloverdale Records) to release his music through. That whirlwind period is captured on Fighting For, a coming-of-age record that finds Honer navigating through his new post-breakout life and all the excitement, challenges, and stresses that come along with it. He appropriately recorded the album on the move with a barebones crew, finding small windows of time between gigs to capture these songs in small studios, churches, living rooms, and even AirBnbs.

To date, Fighting For has garnered praise from press including People, Whiskey Riff and Holler, who hailed him as "a refreshing addition to the acoustic landscape."
