Am I the only one who the potential dangers in over exposing our young people to the more brute side of policing? If the intent is to "scare straight," it's easy the imagine the opposite happening. Instead of "scared straight" you stand the greater chance of creating the very issues you seek to eliminate. A future generation of angry, violent adults going nuclear on the population.
Some might even slip through the cracks and become violent, dangerous members of the very field who created them.
The mom, wife years ago returning home from a church convention late, pulled over by a Florida cop in what should have been a simple routine traffic stop, was instead brutally raped and murdered execution style to prevent her from reporting the cop. Scared straight? Or made numb? With no conscience, sense of humanity or a moral compass. Just a lifeless shell, operating with no human emotions whatsoever.
Something to think about. I won't likely be around to witness the outcome, but y'all gonna come to regret what you're allowing to happen to these children at such tender, impressionable ages. It wouldn't be at all surprising if a war broke out, and you needed more able bodied men and women to fight the enemy, and they join up then make a quick exit over the other side. After the way they've been treated, it wouldn't be at all shocking.
We're going to need a modern day Civil Rights Movement for America's children, in order to save ourselves, our nation.
