"A Dramatic Affair" Supports Youth Involvement In The Performing Arts March 27

  • Monday, March 10, 2025

The Performing Arts League is hosting A Dramatic Affair—One Night Only!, a fundraiser featuring food and drink plus a live stage performance on Thursday, March 27, at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.

Supporting PAL’s work to encourage youth involvement in the performing arts, the evening starts in CTC’s Mainstage Lobby with a cocktail reception followed by selection of hors d'oeuvres plus a dessert buffet during the intermission. In addition to the private preview performance of the Tony-award-winning musical, Dreamgirls, guests can participate in a Silent Auction and Wine Pull.  Tickets are $85 and can be purchased at the PAL website.

Karen Wilson, president of PAL, said, “A Dramatic Affair has traditionally been one of PAL’s most popular fundraising events. Our festive evening of theater and socializing begins in the Chattanooga Theatre Centre’s Mainstage Lobby with a wine and specialty cocktail bar, followed by a substantial selection of delectable hors d’oeuvres plus a dessert buffet during intermission. While people mingle before the private performance, they will be able to peruse the many Silent Auction items and enjoy a Wine Pull with a variety of selections.

"We’re excited that this year’s 'sneak preview' is Dreamgirls, the Tony-award winning stage musical about a female singing trio in the 60’s, which ties in with our mission of making young artists’ dreams come true. Supporting an evening such as this one has a far-reaching impact with the proceeds providing arts education scholarships to local students in the performing arts, as well as grants to the nonprofit performing arts organizations that mentor and train these outstanding young people.  We look forward to seeing our friends at what promises to be a memorable event.”

Founded in 2011, the Performing Arts League is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting youth involvement in the performing arts throughout Chattanooga and Hamilton County.  Focusing on the disciplines of dance, theater, and vocal and instrumental music, PAL annually raises funds and awards grants to nonprofit performing arts organizations to support their programs for young people, as well as scholarships to individual young performers for additional intensive training.  Since 2014, the Performing Arts League has awarded over $270,000 in grants and scholarships that have benefitted a wide range of youth arts programs and aspiring young performers in throughout Hamilton County.  For more information about the Performing Arts League and how to become a member, click here
