VITA volunteer, Joyce N., assists with tax preparation forms
As the April 15 tax filing deadline quickly approaches, the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga urges eligible individuals and families to take advantage of its free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
The VITA program provides free, IRS-certified tax preparation services to individuals earning $67,000 or less annually. Multiple locations across Southeast Tennessee are available to serve the community, and individuals are encouraged to visit ulchatt.net/vita to find the site nearest them.
Walk-in appointments are welcome through Monday, April 15, with extended service hours available on Tax Day from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
“The VITA program is an important resource for community members looking for trustworthy and cost-free tax help,” said Roland McIntyre, VITA regional coordinator. “We’re proud to support the community in this way during this critical time of year.”
