Fight Oligarchy

The Fight Oligarchy rally starring Bernie and AOC was in full hysteria mode in LA last weekend. All their singing and ranting about tax breaks for the wealthy and billionaires running the government left out some important details, however.

Neil Young, one of the rally’s entertainers is estimated by Forbes to be worth $100 million. Multi-millionaire Joan Baez, who used to charm the anti-war crowd with ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’ or ‘We shall overcome,’ sang a rather dismal version of, “ain’t gonna let those lousy billionaires turn me around.’ I wonder, was this socialist millionaires protesting the non-socialist billionaires? I’m not sure that’s what they intended, but it looks that way.

So what was Bernie’s motive here? He’s been on the campaign trail every four years for as long as I can remember and always been able to draw a crowd, but he’s not a Democrat.
He’s a multi-millionaire socialist with several homes who, when asked to campaign for Hillary, insisted on private jets to the events (Politico 2/25/19). Does he hope to fill the void in the party or is he cooking up another million dollar book deal? I vote for the latter.

AOC complained about the cost of housing when she came to DC to serve in the House (CNBC 11/8/18), yet four years later, she sold her Tesla in protest of Musk. She went from complaining about housing to being able to buy a Tesla in just four years. How many average Americans own a Tesla, and could they sell it to protest something (oligarchy) they may not even understand?

At least Bernie and AOC didn’t hide their identity like “Big Gretch” Whitmer, D-MI, did on her visit to the WH (Newsweek 4/13/25). An unmasked Bernie told rally goers their attendance made Trump and Musk nervous. He knew his crowd wouldn’t see Trump and others getting a roaring ovation that night at the UFC event in Miami. That’s not something Bernie’s fans would likely see on MSNBC.
