The Chattanooga softball team, fresh off a three-game sweep at Furman, returns home to host Lipscomb Tuesday evening and Tennessee State on Wednesday when “We Wear PINK”.
The Mocs swept Furman over the weekend, closing in on 30 wins for the season. UTC is batting .297 as a team with nine multi-base hits including 57 doubles, 10 triples and 27 home runs. Camryn Cernuto is batting .380 and has a team-best 34 runs scored and is 16-for-16 on stolen bases. Zoe Wright is second, hitting .361 and Kailey Snell has climbed to third on the team with a batting average of .339.
Snell and Cernuto have a team-best 10 sacrifice hits. Olivia Lipari leads the team with 29 walks and 12 doubles. Acelynn Sellers and Presley Williamson have a team-best eight home runs. Williamson has 26 RBI and Sellers has 31.
In the circle, the Mocs have a 2.79 ERA after posting three straight shutouts over the weekend. Peja Goold has a SoCon-best 1.64 earned run average and leads the league with 166 strikeouts in 124 innings pitched. She has a .164 opponent batting average and is 16-5 on the season. Taylor Hall is 10-1 with a 2.63 ERA and ranks second in the SoCon with 117 strikeouts and a .189 opponent batting average.

Chattanooga leads the series 9-6 and won three of the last five. UTC is 7-5 at home against the Bison.
Chattanooga beat Lipscomb 10-2 on the road in 2024 in five innings. The Mocs scored all 10 runs in the first three innings and gave up two over four. Chattanooga scored 10 earned runs on nine hits, stranded five and only struck out four times.
Lipscomb is batting .264 as a team with 83 multi-base hits including 54 doubles, six triples and 23 home runs with 180 RBI. Alyssa Hastings leads the team with a .415 batting average. She leads the team with 18 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBI. Josey Polk is second at the plate, hitting .312 and 27 RBI. In the circle, the Bison have a 4.83 team ERA led by Laine Barefoot’s 3.43. UTC leads the series 24-1 and have won the last 10 meetings. The last two were stretched to nine inning games that UTC won by one run. The Mocs lead the series 12-1 at home.
Chattanooga put up three runs in the second inning and allowed on in the bottom of the frame. The Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with two outs to force extra innings. A hit-by-pitch and a throwing error placing both runners in scoring position. Camryn Cernuto singled up the middle in the ninth, scoring Addy Keylon from third for the go ahead and eventual game winning run.
The Tigers eight game win streak came to an end with a current four-game skid that included a sweep by SIUE on the road. The Tigers are hitting .280 with 48 multi-base hits that include 26 doubles, 11 triples and 11 home runs with 155 RBI.
