A man was shot at least three times in an incident Thursday night in the 3800 block of Dorris Street.
The victim is 20-year-old Broderick Lay, who remains in serious condition at Erlanger Medical Center.
The suspect is 29-year-old Cornelius "Chucky Breed" Williams. He remains at large at this time. Anyone knowing his whereabouts is encouraged to call the city police at (423) 698-2525.
Williams has an extensive record and is due in Criminal Court on Dec. 7 on a charge of selling crack cocaine.
Police initially were looking for three black males in a maroon Dodge Intrepid seen leaving the scene of the 8:30 p.m. shooting.
The victim was hit in the stomach and back.
Officers received a call of a fight at 38th and Dorris. Once they arrived, the crowd dispersed. A few minutes later they were called back to the area on a call of shots fired.
Witnesses told the officers that someone had been shot and was taken to Erlanger in a private vehicle. Officers radioed this information in and had another officer go to Erlanger to verify it. They did so and found that one individual had been shot several times and was being rushed to surgery.
