A Taste of Big South Fork

  • Monday, November 10, 2008

Len Hawkins made his first trip hunting to Big South Fork last weekend.... a muzzleloader deer & hog hunt.

Len said, "I learned what real mountainous terrain is. I did not get a chance at either deer or hog, but did have the nearly indescribable experience with my first face to face with the magnificent black bear.

Black bear is protected at Big South Fork. With muzzleloader in hand I felt a bit under-gunned.

First thing that came to mind was the joke with an atheist about to eaten by bears.

The atheist said “Lord if you do exist please let this bear be Christian”,

The bear stops and bows his head and prays, "Lord bless this meal before us….

I couldn’t even muster up a chuckle at the time.

Got some unreal photos, couldn’t believe I took them when I started downloading to the PC."
