Patten Square will be filled with “SPOOKTACULAR” fun for all to enjoy when River City Company invites all to dust off their favorite costumes at Downtown Chattanooga’s fourth annual Summerween celebration on Saturday June 28.
The street will be filled with performers, including fire dancers and bubbletopia, along with vintage and eclectic vendors. Typical Halloween traditions will be included, like trick-or-treating and costume contests, but also some new ones with a twist, like a Watermelon Carving Contest.
The event will open for all at 6 p.m., with the first band, Nashville-based Palm Ghosts, on the Summerween Stage at 6:30 p.m. There will be a short break at 7 p.m., with the kid’s costume contest at the stage and watermelon carving contest judging at the River City Company tent. Music by Palm Ghosts will return to the stage until the Teen Costume contest at 7:45 p.m. Second on the stage at 8 p.m. will feature Lillan, a Chattanooga-based indie rock band that combines high energy theatrics with comedy for an unforgettable show. The event will conclude with the adult costume contest at 9:15 p.m., and a performance by Chattanooga Fire Cabaret.
Along with the wide-array of spooky-themed vendors, dining options from Windy City Eatz, Bad Wraps, Kona Ice and Hooked on Minis food trucks, along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by Nostalgia Tap Truck, will be available for purchase at the event. The event is free to attend.
