Martha Huggins

Martha Huggins, 98, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

Martha found true happiness in the simple pleasures of life—working in her yard, tending to her garden and filling her home and the homes of others with flowers. She had a natural eye for design and a talented hand at sewing; known for making drapes and curtains for her family and friends, always with care and love stitched into every piece.

A proud supporter of the Tennessee Volunteers, Martha rarely missed watching a UT football or basketball game, cheering them on with pride. She also loved shopping, always on the hunt for a great find or something special for someone she cared about.

Martha's generous spirit and her love for family will be deeply missed. Her legacy lives on in the homes she helped make more beautiful, the gardens she nurtured and the memories shared with those who loved her.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley H.F. Huggins; parents, A.T. and Minnie Patton; four brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by her children, Ruth Uptain (Randy), Wesley Huggins (Pam) and Michael Huggins (Glenda); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and also Hearth Hospice, especially Nurse Daniel and CNA Kierra.

At Martha’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
