A new Rotary club is forming in Chattanooga. Rotary Rocks Chattanooga is a "cause-based, community-focused club committed to fostering the advancement of women through Rotary International’s guiding motto: Service Above Self."
Officials said, "Set to officially launch this fall, Rotary Rocks Chattanooga will bring together professionals, community leaders and changemakers who are passionate about creating sustainable, scalable impact—locally and globally. The club’s mission is rooted in empowering women through charitable works and collaborative service projects aligned with Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus."
“This is a modern take on a cherished tradition,” said Jane Hampton Bowen, president of Rotary Rocks Chattanooga and chair of the Rotary Leadership Institute for District 6780.
“We’re building a space where service, fellowship, leadership development and impact intersect—with a rhythm that respects life balance and amplifies purpose.”
Unlike traditional Rotary clubs that follow a weekly speaker format, Rotary Rocks will rotate its weekly gatherings to include:
• Fellowship Week;
• Club Assembly;
• Guest Speaker Presentations; and
• Hands-On Service Projects.
"This dynamic format ensures members are not only inspired but also actively engaged in meaningful community impact every month," officials said.
The club will address community and global needs in:
• Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution;
• Disease Prevention and Treatment;
• Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene;
• Maternal and Child Health;
• Basic Education and Literacy;
• Community Economic Development; and
• The Environment.
Weekly meetings will be held on Tuesdays from 5-6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Chattanooga.
