  • Thursday, July 31, 2025

The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped a second consecutive game to the Knoxville Smokies on Wednesday night by a score of 4-1. Shortstop Edwin Arroyo's sixth inning double kept the Lookouts from getting no hit by the Smokies staff.

Knoxville starter Tyler Schlaffer allowed just the one hit in six complete innings. He struck five and walked five. Lookouts starting pitcher Ryan Cardona also had an excellent start, completing six innings and allowing only two runs on four hits with five strikeouts. He drops to 5-4 with the tough luck loss.

The Lookouts are now 6.5 games behind the streaking Birmingham Barons with a record of 14-14 in the second half after winning the division in the first half. They will try and bounce back on 'Thirsty Thursday' at AT&T Field against Knoxville. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m.
