HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 Utility Work both directions from MM 9 to MM 15.6: O?cer assisted rolling roadblock on I-75 beginning northbound in Hamilton County at Exit 9 Collegedale / Volkswagen Drive and southbound in Bradley County at LM 4.041, which is South of Exit 20. Message boards, signage, trucks, and law enforcement vehicles will be preset along I-75 and ramps. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction Phase 2: Nightly Lane closures will occur on this project, 9 PM to 6 AM, on I-75 North and South between Exit 1 (East Ridge) and Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road/ SR-320) and on I-24 East and West from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road, MM182 to MM185, for various construction activities. These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. (Note: During the night (9 PM to 6 AM) on Sunday, August 3rd the ramp from I-75 North to I-24 West; the ramp from I-75 South to I-24 West; and I-24 West from the I-75 interchange to South Moore Road will have multiple lane closures. The I-24 West exit ramp to North Terrace/S. Moore Road may also be closed, detours will be posted. Ramp and interstate traffic will be reduced to a single lane to prepare the roadway for a future traffic shift the night of Monday, August 4th. These lane closures will allow the contractor to remove conflicting lane lines and partially install new lane lines, signs and traffic control for the shift that will be fully implemented on Monday night. Additional nighttime lane closures will be in place on Monday, August 4th so that the planned traffic change can be completed. Once completed, additional lanes will be opened on I-75 ramps (I-75 North to I-24 West, I-75 South to I 24 West) and a portion of I-24 West just beyond South Moore Road. Further traffic changes are planned for the coming weeks that will be adding lanes and/or opening and improving ramps on further portions of I-24 East and West.) It may be necessary to do short duration (15 to 30 minutes) rolling roadblocks during the day or night for patching potholes, clearing debris or repairing guardrail, attenuators, etc. Portions of the left lane on North and South Terrace between Germantown Road and Spring Creek Road will remain closed for the installation of drainage structures, sanitary sewers, retaining and noise wall construction. The entrance and exit ramps to I-24 between Belvoir Avenue and Moore Road are currently closed (Note: A new entrance ramp from North Terrace to I-24 West is now open in this area. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at the Hamilton Place Mall interchange: The SR-153 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic shifts have been implemented on I-75 northbound, Shallowford Road entrance ramps, and Shallowford Road exit ramps and Hamilton Place Mall exit ramp. Hamilton Loop Road is closed for retaining wall construction and storm drainage installation between the intersections near Markman’s Jewelers and Texas Roadhouse. The contractor has implemented a traffic shift on Hamilton Place Blvd. shifting NB and SB traffic to the east side of the existing roadway from near the I-75 SB on-ramp to near Bams Drive for the installation of storm drainage. The contractor will maintain 1 lane of traffic in each direction throughout this area. On 08/04/25 the contractor will close 2 left lanes on I-75 SB beginning at MM 7.4 and ending at MM 4.8 for the repair of a crash cushion and concrete barrier on the left shoulder. The speed limit has been reduced on I-75 throughout the project limits. Nightly lane closures are permitted 8 PM to 6 AM. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-2 [11.33-11.92] from Dodds Ave to Seminole Drive tunnel rehabilitation: TRAFFIC SHIFT - Both directions of traffic will be reduced to one lane and both flows of traffic will share the existing east bound tunnel. The west bound traffic will shift across the existing medians to be able to travel through the east bound tunnel. There will be a raised curb and reflective delineators that will divide traffic within the tunnel.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 [10.14-11.96] from Frazier Ave to Signal Mountain Blvd resurfacing: The contractor will be resurfacing Cherokee Blvd and Dayton Blvd (SR-8) between Frazier Ave and Signal Mtn Blvd starting Sunday, 07/27/25. This work will be performed at night between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The traveling public can expect delays with lane closures and flaggers present. All SR-68 traffic is using the existing SR-68 South bridge while construction occurs on the new SR-68 North bridge. All SR-40/SR-68 interchange traffic will utilize the SR-68 South interchange ramps. A temporary 3-way stop has been implemented at the intersection of the SR-40 interchange ramp and SR-68. Motorists are encouraged to slow down when entering the construction zone and look out for new stop signs on SR-68 near the SR-40/SR-68 interchange.
