Lookouts Drop Third Straight To Smokies

  • Friday, August 1, 2025

Thursday night felt eerily familiar to the Lookouts as back to back big innings from the Smokies once again haunted them leading to an 11-3 loss. The Smokies have now won the first three games of the six game series.

After three scoreless innings on both sides the Smokies got on the board with a three spot in the fourth courtesy of a BJ Murray homerun. Jay Allen II responded with a solo shot in the fourth to keep the Lookouts in striking distance. In the top of the fifth the Lookouts staff surrendered five hits and three walks leading to six runs.

Left hander T.J. Sikkema drops to 5-3 on the season after surrendering seven runs on five hits in four and a third innings. Jay Allen II added a double as well as the homerun to account for two of the Lookouts five total hits.

The two teams are back at it on Friday night with a 7:15 p.m. start time. It is College Football Night at AT&T Field.
