The Baylor School boys golf team showed off that D word meaning depth as they finished third at the final day of the I-24 Invitational at the Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro.
They played Macon County, a good Class A team, and won three of the five matches. Owen Bible and Hale Hamilton dropped their matches but the middle three of William Thomasson, Brett Hogue and Hank McDowell took theirs securing a third place finish and a 11-1 beginning in 2025.
Head Coach Gary Patrick knows there are more challenges awaiting his team and soon like next week. "The kids are nervous trying to make a varsity team and also playing on courses that they don't know. We have the Baylor Preview coming up August 4th and 5th and that will tell us where we are and we'll have two months to fix it," Patrick said after the tournament.
This is Patrick's 25th year of coaching and his 42nd overall at the school. "It's all about the kids as they keep me young, If you don't like kids then you wouldn't want this job,"
