The Chattanooga women’s soccer team hosts Georgia State Sunday evening in an exhibition match at Finley Stadium.
Gates open one hour prior to the 7:00 p.m. kickoff time. All fans must enter through the South Gate. Paid parking is available around Finley Stadium.
Sunday’s match is the start of a busy home slate that includes a second home exhibition Wednesday, Aug. 6 against Tennessee.
The Mocs open the season on August 14 at home against Winthrop. UTC also hosts non-conference foes Indiana State, Morehead State, North Alabama and Belmont. Southern Conference matches at home this season include the league-opener against Wofford as well as Mercer, Furman and VMI.
Chattanooga returns 17 letterwinners from last season and adds 10 newcomers to the roster. Veterans include all-conference performers Caroline Richvalsky and Brenna Swiger along with all-freshman selections Sophia Mize and EG Dillard.
The Mocs return 95 percent of their offense from last season. Richvalsky tallied seven of UTC’s 19 goals and Clarissa Salinas scored three. Zoey Mize led the Mocs with seven of Chattanooga’s 16 assists while Richvalsky added three and Nicole Solete had two.
Keeper Caroline Ekern begins her fourth season in the net. She ranks third all-time at UTC for shutouts with 14 and second on the career chart with 23 wins.
