For the 11th straight year, CHI Memorial, a member of CommonSpirit, has been named a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News and World Report. On the list of Best Hospitals in Tennessee, CHI Memorial is ranked number four. Vanderbilt University Medical Center is ranked number one in the state, followed by two hospitals in Memphis. Only 10 of Tennessee’s 138 hospitals meet U.S. News’ standards and are ranked. In addition, CHI Memorial received the number one ranking for hospitals in Chattanooga.
CHI Memorial also received a ‘high performing’ rating in 15 surgical procedures and chronic conditions evaluated by U.S.
News: AAA repair, back surgery (spine fusion), colon cancer surgery, COPD, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, hip fracture, hip replacement, knee replacement, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, lung cancer surgery, pacemaker implantation, prostate cancer surgery, stroke, and TAVR.
Of the more than 4,400 hospitals evaluated by U.S. News this year, 504 hospitals were recognized as Best Regional Hospitals. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care, and patient experience. The rankings assist patients and their doctors in choosing the right hospital for them.
