Erlanger Urology will host a Bladder Cancer Support Group on the third Wednesday of each month, beginning August 20, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Erlanger Medical Mall POB Conference Room, located on the first floor at 979 E. 3rd St., Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.
Erlanger Urology’s Bladder Cancer Support Group is specially designed for patients and their loved ones who are impacted by bladder cancer. Participants who attend the group sessions will have the opportunity to receive educational information from urology specialists and a nurse oncology navigator.
"Bladder cancer is among the most persistent malignancies in the U.S. with approximately 84,870 new diagnosis and 17,420 deaths expected in 2025,” said Amar Singh, MD, Professor and Chair, Department of Urology. “We are proud to announce the launch of Chattanooga's Bladder Cancer Support Group, committed to serving as an essential lifeline. Through education, support, and community connection, we aim to deliver trusted information, encourage early screening, and stand alongside patients every step of the way."
Patients will also be able to share their cancer journeys in a safe space through the sessions. Erlanger Urology Bladder Cancer Support Group sessions are offered free of charge; however, participants are encouraged to register if they plan to attend.
“Support groups help foster a community of cancer care for patients and their families,” said Jessica Howell, RN, Erlanger Urology. “Having a focused group for bladder diagnosis allows us to really concentrate on what affects this journey and provide the resources best suited to your needs.”
