A free Beach Movie Night will be hosted at Chester Frost Park, 2277 Gold Point Circle North in Hixson, on Saturday, Aug.2, featuring "Sharknado."
"Bring life jackets, floats, chairs and blankets to enjoy this free beach movie," organizers said. "Float in the water or stay safe on the beach as you enjoy 'Sharknado'. Space is limited, so arrive early. Check-in is required to participate in this event, so check-in upon arrival to complete a waiver to participate in this fun summer activity."
The event will from frum 3-11 p.m., with free activities starting at 3 p.m.
A free Cornhole Tournament will begin at 5 p.m., with a Frozen T-Shirt Contest at 7 p.m. There will be free parking and games, with food and beverages available for purchase from vendors. All ages are welcome.
The movie will begin at 9 p.m., and is rated TV-14 LV for some intense sequences of gory, violent shark attacks and language. Parents are urged to be cautious. Floats and life jackets are not provided. All Floats are subject to approval on site. No oversized floats are allowed.
"If the weather doesn’t cooperate with our plans, we will post on the Facebook event page by noon on Aug. 1," organizers said. "If needed, the rain date for this event will be Aug. 23."
