Mary Ellen Goforth Bickford, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died on November 15, 2010.

Mrs. Bickford celebrated her 100th birthday on Aug. 15. She was a master of all forms of needlework including crocheting, knitting and quilting. She was a Christian attending the Church of Christ in Griffith and Pikeville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Bickford; daughters, Ruth DeBord and Louise Carmack; mother, Nell Rose Goforth; sister Carrie Agee; brothers, Henry Goforth, Howard Goforth, Mitchel Goforth and James Goforth.

She is survived by her children, Carlos Bickford, Asheville, N.C.; Jim Bickford, Pikeville; Alene Hammond, Nashville; Pauline McCarley, Lexington, Ky.; Shirley Bilbrey, Chattanooga; and Charlotte Colvard, Crossville; sister, Ova O'dell, Deposit, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Minister Tony Britt officiating.

Visitation is on Wednesday from 9 a.m. CST until service time.
