Robert Shelby Herron, 83, of Soddy Daisy, died on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2010.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Vanderburgh in the Asiatic-Pacific area and Japan.
Robert was a life member of United Association of Plumber-Pipe Fitters Local 211 of Houston, Texas, BTJ Steamfitter, retired. He also worked at Sovex Natural Foods.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Eva Lee Herron who passed away on Aug. 30, 2010, his father, mother and one brother.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Gail (George) Carlisle, of Soddy Daisy, Lynn (David) Lovelady, of Soddy Daisy; son, Byron (Rebecca) Davenport, of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Carol Herron, of San Francisco, Ca., Geraldine Leonard, of Huffman, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Al Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home.
