Police said they made an arrest in a road rage case.

Steven Wiertal said a gray Nissan cut in front of him near Starbucks on Gunbarrel Road.

He said the vehicle braked, then stopped in the middle of busy Gunbarrel Road. He said the driver reached in the backseat and retrieved what appeared to be a black Glock handgun from a bag.

He said the man pointed the gun up in the sky and waved it toward his vehicle. He said he became very afraid and his wife, Christina, was hysterical.

Police questioned the Nissan driver, Jonathan David Grant, and he at first said there was no gun involved. He then said he had reached for his 40-caliber Taurus handgun, but he denied waving it at anyone or pointing it in the sky.

Grant, 34, was taken to the County Jail and charged with aggravated assault.
