Holiday Window Scenes On Display At EPB’s Headquarters

  • Wednesday, November 21, 2012

EPB’s elves worked for more than a month to prepare for the unveiling of the organization’s holiday windows, a downtown tradition dating back more than 60 years.

The unveiling of “Gig City Holidays” took place on Wednesday, at 5:30 p.m.—just in time for families to enjoy the windows as part of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Display windows facing the Market Street side of EPB’s downtown headquarters depict Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves vacationing in the Gig City. Meanwhile, the windows facing Broad Street portray characters enjoying life in the North Pole, even tele-conferencing with their friends on holiday in Chattanooga.

Nearly 50 EPB employees worked to design and create the window scenes which were inspired by the company’s commitment to the community it serves.

“The windows are EPB’s way of saying ‘happy holidays’ to the community,” said Angela Taylor, EPB’s manager of Field Services. “We all love seeing families enjoying the displays.”

The holiday windows will remain on display until early January.
