Lookouts Fall To Smokies 8-1

The Chattanooga Lookouts fell to the Knoxville Smokies for the fourth consecutive game on Friday night, this time by a score of 8-1. In the top of the second the Smokies strung together four singles off of Lookouts starter Todd Willeman for a 3-0 lead. Jay Allen II answered for the Lookouts in the bottom of the inning with a solo blast.

Knoxville would get that run back in the fifth and then Lookouts reliever Arij Fransen walked the bases loaded in the seventh which led to three more runs coming in. Jay Allen II had two of the Lookouts three hits on the evening.

The two teams will be back in action on Saturday evening at 7:15 p.m. and then will conclude the six game series on Sunday afternoon at 2:15 p.m. Knoxville has now moved ahead of Chattanooga into second place in the second half standings. Following Sunday's matinee the Lookouts head to Birmingham to face a red hot, first place Barons team starting Tuesday night.
