Grand Jury Won't Indict Man Who Shot At Car Thief

  • Wednesday, September 26, 2012

The Hamilton County Grand Jury has declined to indict a man charged with firing a shot at a thief who was taking his truck at the Brainerd Walmart.

Desi Arnez Lawrence, 55, shot at Christopher Goins.

Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department’s Auto Theft Unit presented an original indictment case to the Grand Jury on the charge of felony reckless endangerment for the shooting.

The Grand Jury decided a no bill on this case, so there are no charges against Mr. Lawrence.

The case on Goins is still pending further investigation.
