Evelyn T. Orr, 87, of Red Bank, died peacefully at her home in September, 2012.

A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a 1946 graduate of Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing. Her work as a registered nurse served her well as a devoted wife and caregiver to Martin, her husband of 63 years, who preceded her in death. She was a dedicated weekly volunteer for Senior Neighbors Portable Meals, where she delivered meals to those in need, and also served as a volunteer organizer. An appreciation plaque from Senior Neighbors thanked her for her kindness, generosity and humility during 34 years of service.

Her lifetime of generosity continued beyond her demise in the donation of her body to Vanderbilt Medical School for medical education and research.

Evelyn is survived by her brother, Joe Timberlake of Signal Mountain, and daughter, Nancy Orr of Moab, Ut.

A memorial service to honor Evelyn, her husband, Martin and son, Timberlake will be held at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace on Saturday, March 2, at 1 p.m.

Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace.
