Buford Lebron Nabors, 71, of Signal Mountain, died on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Nabors was a native of Rossville and a graduate of Rossville High School.  He attended the University of Chattanooga and was retired from Ashland Oil where he served as general manager for thirty years.  Buford was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville and was a world traveler and loved to take his “road trips.”  

His parents, Clymer and Lorene Crawford Nabors, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his longtime companion and “sweetheart,” Cherie Gilliam of Signal Mountain; brother, Bob (Virginia) Nabors, Ringgold; nieces, Kelly (Bryan) Lawler and Cathy Nabors of Ringgold, and Cindy Nabors of Harrison; nephew, Rob (Darlene) Nabors of Chickamauga; several great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Danny Henson officiating.  Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with military honors.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 11, from 4–8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
