Cut The County Out Of Erlanger - And Response

  • Saturday, March 23, 2013

Unbelievable is one of the few choice words I’d express to the County Commission.  Irresponsible and petty are two more.  Erlanger may be a public hospital in Hamilton County, but the legislature created its management back in the 1970’s.  Fortunately times have changed and the legislature modernized it.  And for commissioners to feel “out of the loop,, it’s only because they don’t listen to anyone except to themselves.  They deserve a million dollars of say-so while the state provides hundreds of millions to Erlanger?

So I hope the State Senate and House regroup and come up with another bill that cuts the county out of the process completely.  Maybe with a new board and a new CEO, Erlanger can get back to the top.   In the meantime, county commissioners can go back to browbeating the school board.  That seems like all they know how to do.

Where have you been for the last couple of months: It seems to me that the State Legislature body proceeded with a bill without giving our County Commission a chance to have a say-so?

Are you saying that we as Hamilton County tax payers have no say-so in how our public hospital is run? I don’t think so. If that is the case then we should not have to spend one cent at this public hospital because it then is not a public hospital. I for one am sick at the politics of this institution.
