Leon Jones Cox, Jr., 86, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013.

Mr. Cox was born in Atlanta, to the late Louise Calhoun Cox and Leon J. Cox, Sr.  He was of the Christian faith and an avid golf fan.  He retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 43 and also retired from First Presbyterian Church as maintenance caretaker. 

Surviving are his wife Mary E. Cox; only sibling, Franklin L. Cox of Warrenton, GA; three stepgrandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; three nephews; four grand-nephews; one grandniece; three great-grandnieces; and one great-grandnephew.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, May 27, and from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the funeral home with Mr. Danny Farr officiating.  Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
