Andy Lee Eslinger, 84, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 in a local hospital. 

Andy was born in Cleveland on November 18, 1928 a son of the late John William and Cassie Mary Marler Eslinger. He was of the Christian faith and attended the Shenandoah Baptist Church. Andy was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army having served his country faithfully during the Korean War. He was a very hard worker and avid gardener. He enjoyed spending time running the roads and traveling to various places. He loved his entire family and was especially proud of his grandson Justin Eslinger who passed away in 2006. He is now reunited with him. 

In addition to his parents Andy was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Emma Jean Ogle Eslinger; grandson, Justin Andrew Eslinger; three sisters, Irene Durham, Dorothy Eslinger and Betty Thurman; brothers-in-law, Tommy Weaver, Buck Ogle, Bill Ogle and Bob Ogle. 

Andy is survived by two sons, Jackie Eslinger and Gary Eslinger and his wife Deeann; a special daughter-in-law, Brenda Eslinger; four grandchildren, Chris Myers, Candy Reed, Harold Gage and Austin Dykes; one sister, Barbara Weaver; two brothers, Jim Eslinger (Lois) and Dennis Eslinger (Dot); sisters-in-law, Maebelle Ogle, Eunice Ogle and Irene Ogle; brother-in-law, Donald Ogle (Dot); and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, August 15 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church located at 7619 Blue Springs Road with the Reverend Donnie Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. Gary Eslinger, Harold Gage, Austin Dykes, Barry Ogle, Jimmy Ogle and Tim Weaver will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Weaver, David Weaver, Chris Myers, Nathan Ogle, Ricky Ogle and Roger Ogle. 

The family will receive friends at the church from 12-1 p.m. on Thursday, August 15.

Companion Funeral & Cremation Service has charge of the arrangements.
