Lawsuit Charges Bradley DA Office Failed To File For Supervision On Man Who Killed New Wife

  • Thursday, January 23, 2014

A lawsuit brought in Hamilton County Circuit Court says the Bradley County District Attorney's Office failed to file for post-prison supervision of a man who then killed his new wife.

The suit is brought against the Bradley County District Attorney's Office and Bradley County by Danny Hale, father of Tammy Hale Releford.

It says Ms. Releford was murdered in Hamilton County last May 19. At the time she was living at 8912 Lovell Road in Hixson.

The suit says she had married Releford three months after he was released from state prison after serving 15 years for aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.

It says Releford was required to have been placed on community supervision for life as a multiple violent rapist upon his release from prison, but it says the Bradley County DA's Office did not file the requested paperwork.

The suit says Ms. Releford was unaware of the requirement.
