Margaret Schmidt
Margaret R. Schmidt, 89, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, October 17, 2014.
She was a member of Brainerd Hills United Methodist Church. Margaret was a Past Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star where she had served for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Schmidt, parents, James and Gladys Hicks and a sister, Mildred Smith.
Survivors include her son, James F. Branum of Hollywood, S.C.; one grandson, James F . Branum, Jr. of Hollywood, S.C.; one granddaughter; three great-granddaughters; one sister, Mary Coppit of Chattanooga; three brothers, James Hicks of Florence, S.C., Bill Hicks of Cleveland, Tn., and Jerry Hicks of Jasper, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
