Cleo Burgan, 98, died at home on Saturday, October 18, 2014, from a fall at her home.  She was surrounded by her loved ones as she crossed over into heaven.

Her husband Creedie, who worked at Southern Railroad, preceded her in death. Her sister Edna Caldwell, 95, died two weeks earlier on Oct. 4.

Cleo was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her eight girls. She was active in their school activities, at the end of every school year she held a luncheon for all the teachers of Elbert Long School for many years. She belonged to Brainerd Hills Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and furnished flowers to the church as well as sick members on many occasions.

She was a member of Marimont Garden Club for 43 years and they carried hundreds of flowers on May Day to Hamilton County Nursing Home.  She also held a yard sale for several years to help with the club expenses and through this she made many wonderful friends. She always welcomed folks to come eat with her, her children, grandchildren and their families and friends. She was a wonderful Christian example of kindness to all she met.
