Spider Lady joins Shock Theatre
The cast and crew of Shock Theatre have completed their tenth episode and will air the program on Nov. 1 just after midnight on WDEF. Episode 10 is a "horror hosting package" created to present the cult classic Spider Baby. In this episode viewers will see the the unveiling of a new character on Shock Theatre, the Spider Lady.
Victoria Meeks Underwood portrays the Spider Lady as the cast has Dingbat being kidnapped or bat-napped and held for ransom. The only problem is Doc isn’t interested in taking him back. A dilemma begins as negotiations break off. Viewers will watch how Doc finds a way to reunite with Dingbat back and joins forces with the Spider Lady. Appearances made by Victoria Underwood, Scott Fillers, the Onstage Dancers and poet Michael Crumb.
Producer Jack Gray gave some background on the Spider Lady. The Spider Lady was an original character on the original Shock Theatre from 1968-1971. The role was performed by BJ Darnell who passed away in 2012. Mr. Gray goes on to say, “I’ve been wanting to revive the character since the beginning of the project and now we’ll be able to unveil this new addition to the show on Nov. 1.
