Dale Walter Harrison, 75, of Rossville, Georgia died peacefully at home, Wednesday, December 24, 2014.

A native of New Orleans, La., he had resided in the Rossville area since 2000, and was formerly of Michigan. Dale earned his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education degree and Master of Science in Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Il. Dale retired in March 1978 from the U.S. Air Force as Master Sergeant after 20 years of service, was coordinator of the Dental Technology Program at Lewis & Clark Community College, Godfrey, Il. from (1978-1986), Program Director Dental Technology and Department Head of Allied Dental Program at Ferris State University, in Big Rapids, Michigan (1986 – 1999), and Coordinator Dental Laboratory Technology Program for Project HOPE, in Lisbon, Portugal (1989-1990).

He loved gourmet cooking, photography, genealogy research, classic cars, fishing and reading. He was a member of many organizations, Phi Kappa Phi, American Legion Post # 214, American Legion 40 & 8, Sons of the American Revolution, the Chattanooga Delta Genealogy Society, a Freemason and Shriner, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Heartland Therapeutic Programs, Sons of American Legion and his mother entered him in a baby contest when he was an infant and was voted “Most Beautiful Baby”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter S. and Vera Salvant Harrison and brother, Norman Harrison. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nancy Harrison of Signal Mtn; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Randy McKee of Godfrey, Il.; ex-wife, Karen Harrison-Gunter of Alton, Il.; sister, Vera Harrison Shaffer of Canton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) Harrison, Corey (Tori) McKee and Sarah McKee; two step grandchildren, Ben Collins and Louise Collins, one great-grandson, two nieces, one nephew; and good friends and co-workers, Barbara “Bobbie” Allison-Standefer and Hollis Allison, both of Chattanooga.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 12-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to Heartland Therapeutic Programs or the Shriners’ Hospital.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home Ft. Oglethorpe.
