Fire Damages House On 46th Street Place

Fire damaged a house on 46th Street Place early Saturday afternoon.

At 12:15 p.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1510 46th Street Place.  It took four fire companies about 25 minutes to get the fire under control.

Lieutenant Tyler Head with Engine 9, advised he had smoke and flames visible from the rear of the house upon arrival.  Everyone that was at home at the time of the fire was able to get out safely prior to the fire departments arrival.  No one was injured.

The home owner advised he heard popping sounds coming from the back of the house.  When he went to investigate, he discovered the back of the house was on fire.  The cause of the fire appeared to be electrical.

Firefighters from Quint 1, 2 and 14 also assisted with the fire.
