Ronald Louis Ritz, 70, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Friday March 21, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Ritz was born April 24, 1943, in Ashland, Oh., son of the late Eldred and Elizabeth Wright Ritz. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from the Walker County Road Department. He was also a horse trainer and musician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Bateman.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Christopher Baggett; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Richard Irby; grandchildren, Justin Greene, Hanna Greene, Jackson Baggett, Bentley Baggett, and Alexa Dennis.
Funeral services for Mr. Ritz will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sanford Deberry, Reverend Stanley Koonce, and Brother Joe Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Baggett, Jackie Baggett, Terry Reed, Jeremy Evans, Casey Wimpy, Justin Owens, and Joe Owens.
Mr. Ritz will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
