Viola James, 77, died in a local hospital on Friday, April 11, 2014.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. P. James.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Favors and four sons, Jimmy (Annie), Eric (Angelia), Ronald (Tracie), and J. P. Jr. (Synamon) James, all of Chattanooga; brothers, Jimmy (Kitty), Tommy Lee and Jerry Favors, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Rosie Jackson and Tina (Norman) Joshen of Chattanooga, Clara (Ed) McPherson of Boston; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many other friends and family.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, at noon in the chapel with Pastor Morris Johnson, Eulogist. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

 

The body will lie in state after noon on Wednesday, April 16, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
